I draw each Pet Portrait by hand, and I love capturing every little detail that makes your pet special!

The first step to a great Portrait is sending me great reference photos!

Picking the Perfect Photos

The better the photo quality you send me, the better your portrait will turn out. Here are some tips to help you pick the perfect photo!

1) Natural Lighting. Outdoor photos are often best. Avoid sending dimly lit or flash photos.

2) Face-On. Most clients prefer a full-on view of their pet. Pro tip: make sure both eyes are showing!

3) Get down on their level. Even though it’s easier to take photos while standing, the best portraits are taken at the pet’s eye level.

4) Fill the camera frame. Photos taken from far away often don’t have sharp enough resolution.

5) Be patient! Snapping or finding the perfect photo of your pet takes time!

Finally, I realize that in some cases you may be limited in the number of photos you have access to, as in pets that have passed away. If you have any questions regarding the quality of your photos, don’t hesitate to ask me by filling out my Contact form! I’m happy to give feedback and make recommendations based on the photos that you have.

I will need one main photo for the positioning of your Portrait but please send additional photos if you’re able! These can be helpful for the coloring and details!

I also invite you to share your pet’s story with me. I want to hear all of those little things that make your pet unique, because the little details are the things that make a sweet, lasting memory of your pet!

You can send me the photos for your Portrait however is easiest for you, but most of my clients prefer either email or text message. My contact information is included on the receipt you will receive as soon as your order is placed. If I haven’t heard from you in a day or so, I will follow up with you using the information you provided on the form!

After you Place your Order

After you place your order, I will review it and add you to my current schedule. If I have any questions, I will follow up with you!

My turnaround time is 1-2 weeks most of the year, but it can be longer in my peak season, September - December. If you’d like to know my current turnaround time when you place your order just ask! I accommodate rush order requests as I’m able.

Christmas Orders: I recommend placing Christmas orders by the beginning of November. Once my schedule is full for Christmas, I will start taking orders for January delivery.
