Artist Reebok Brown tells the story of how she got her nickname.

Hi, I’m Reebok!  (Yes, Reebok, like the shoe! I received my nickname the night that I was born because I came so quickly the doctor only had time to walk into his scrubs and catch me on my way out. So my dad said I should be nicknamed after the running shoe. And, well… it stuck!)

Pet Portraits by Reebok is a one-woman show, so I do everything from drawing the portraits to attending live events around the Atlanta area.  I thought I’d take a minute to introduce myself and tell you a little bit of my story! I started drawing pet portraits in 2017 and I’m proud to be a member of Georgia Grown!

Since you like what I do, I’m guessing you really love your pet… or you really love someone who does!  Me too!  My dog Finn got me started drawing pet portraits back in 2017.  I drew my first portrait of him not too long after we had adopted him, and everyone who saw it just loved it.  My clients love their pets as much as I love mine, so it’s my mission to draw each client’s portrait with as much love and detail as I put into that very first portrait of Finn.  I want to give each of my clients a pet portrait that they will cherish, a piece that will make them smile every time they see it in their home!

I still use that first portrait I drew of Finn in all my advertising because it captures him so well.  My clients tell me all the time that I capture their pet’s personality in my work.  When I draw a pet, it’s not just any pet.  It’s YOUR pet.  Custom pet portraits are special because when you unwrap and see yours for the first time, you realize it’s your pet looking back at you from the page!

I draw each Pet Portrait by hand, and I love capturing every little detail that makes your pet special! That’s why I invite you to share your pet’s story with me when you place your order. Whether I meet you in person at an event or you place an order through my website, I want to hear all of those little things that make up your pet’s unique personality!

Artist Biography

Artist Reebok Brown grew up in Tennessee.  She showed artistic talent from a young age and pursued art classes through college, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 2011.  She currently resides in the Atlanta, Georgia area and started drawing Pet Portraits from her home studio in 2017.

Reebok creates meticulously realistic drawings of animals in charcoal and pastel on textured paper.  Her style is a unique blend of traditional media and contemporary subject matter.  She works from high-quality photographs to produce hand drawn, lifelike representations of beloved pets.

Located in the Northeast Atlanta area, Reebok’s artwork is often on display during weekend events such as the Lakewood 400 Antiques Show in Cumming, GA, and Seasonal Festivals such as the Braselton Antique Festival in Braselton, GA, the Duluth Fall Festival in Duluth, GA, and many others.

Artist Statement

Pet Portraits by Reebok was borne out of my impression of our world’s beauty and a desire to share that with others.  I enjoy creating beautiful things that delight other people. That’s the most basic reason that I chose to specialize in creating surprisingly realistic drawings of clients’ pets in charcoal and pastel.  I believe the beauty is in the details, and my work is extremely detailed.  That’s why my dogs’ eyes shine and my cats’ fur looks soft enough to reach out and touch.  I think these qualities in real life are incredibly beautiful, and that’s what I want to give each client in their Portrait.

My clients love their pets as much as I love mine, so it’s my mission to draw each client’s portrait with as much love and detail as I put into my very first portrait of my dog Finn. When I draw a Pet Portrait for someone, I’m preserving the memory of someone’s pet by taking the time to create a lovingly hand-drawn Portrait of their furry Best Friend. I want to give each of my clients a piece that will make them smile every time they see it in their home!
